Level 1 (½ hour session):
Tuning, playing position, and care of the instrument.
Correct posture while playing.
Daily practice schedule.
Introduction of first-position notes. C, G, D, A, E chord-types.
Proper strum technique, and use of the pick in quarter and eighth note patterns.
Songs from around the world in the classical, folk and contemporary idioms.
Recital performance preparation.
Certificate upon completion.
Level 2 (½ hour session):
Continuation of concepts developed in the beginning sessions, with the addition of:

Second position notes, and improvisation tablature. D, A, E, B, and F-type chords.
Power chords, syncopation, triplets, pentatonic scales.
Finger style picking and speed skills development.
Greater emphasis on musicality.
Certificate upon completion.
Level 3-10 (1 hour session):
Development of advanced technique using indirect procedures.
Development to fifth position notes. Sixteenth note rhythms.
All 12 major and minor, pentatonic and chromatic scales. Introduction to modes.
Special techniques such as barre chords, drop D tuning, movable scales, slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and string bends. Chord construction, jazz improvisation.
Certificate upon completion of each level.
Adult 1 hour session:
Development of music repertoire in classical, popular, and jazz idioms for expansion and maintenance of musical and technical skills used in community, church, and professional venues.
