Piano

Private Piano Lessons are available for ages six through adult. Music for Little Mozarts classes are offered for ages four through six. All lessons are designed to meet each student's needs according to his or her age and skill level.

All Piano lessons are taught by experienced, professional teachers. Each piano teacher at New Day Music Studios creates a relaxed, fun, and creative environment in which to learn. Traditional lesson materials are used for a strong foundation, with many styles of music added to the piano curriculum such as jazz, pop, and rock.

  • Weekly one-half hour lessons: $140.00 per month plus materials.
  • Weekly one hour lessons: $280.00 per month plus materials.
 

Voice

Learn to sing beautifully using proper vocal technique and become the singer you were meant to be. All ages and levels of ability are welcome.

  • Learn: Improvement of pitch, breath control, phrasing, tone quality, sight reading skills through the use of Solfege (Do-Re-Mi), interval training, musical phrasing and interpretation
  • Develop: Performance skills, self confidence, and creative expression
  • Discover: Many styles and periods of music such as musical theater, art songs, folk songs, and pop
  • Prepare: recitals, auditions, musical theatre, school plays, college entrance, competitions, choirs, and workshops

Voice lessons are taught by a professional and highly qualified teacher. You will learn how to protect your voice from damage and learn proper warm up procedures.

  • Weekly one-half hour lessons: $170.00 per month, plus materials
  • Weekly 45 Minute lessons: $256.00 per month, plus materials
 

Brass

Brass studies includes trumpet, horn, trombone, and baritone/euphonium lessons.

Level 1 (1/2 hour session)

Tuning, playing position, and care of the instrument.
Correct posture while playing.
Daily practice schedule.
Introduction of first-position notes. C, G, D, A, E chord-types.
Proper strum technique, and use of the pick in quarter and eighth note patterns.
Songs from around the world in the classical, folk and contemporary idioms.
Recital performance preparation.
Certificate upon completion.
 
 

Level 2 (1/2 hour session)

Continuation of concepts developed in the beginning sessions, with the addition of:
Second position notes, and improvisation tablature. D, A, E, B, and F-type chords.
Power chords, syncopation, triplets, pentatonic scales.
Finger style picking and speed skills development.
Greater emphasis on musicality.
Certificate upon completion.
 
 

Level 3-10 (1 hour session)

Development of advanced technique using indirect procedures.
Development to fifth position notes. Sixteenth note rhythms.
All 12 major and minor, pentatonic and chromatic scales. Introduction to modes.
Special techniques such as barre chords, drop D tuning, movable scales, slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and string bends.
Chord construction, jazz improvisation.
Certificate upon completion of each level.
 
 

Adult (1 hour session)

Development of music repertoire in classical, popular, and jazz idioms for expansion and maintenance of musical and technical skills used in community, church, and professional venues.
 
 

Early Childhood

Music for Little Mozarts

Music classes are designed to bring out the Music in Every child with the help of two very cute characters named Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse. It is developmentally age appropriate and written to be fun and creative for the young child.

  • Learn: Beginning Music Notation and how it works, Posture and Hand Positioning
  • Develop: Practice skills, Self Confidence
  • Discover: The Joy of Making Music, Famous Composers

Weekly one-half hour lessons (2-3) children per class): $140.00 per month
 

Violin

 
 

Level 1 (½ hour session)

Assembly, holding position, finger positions, bowing technique.
Correct posture while playing.
Daily practice schedule, and care of the instrument.
Basic note reading, theory, ear training, rhythms, and musical styles.
Major scales and developmental exercises.
Songs from around the world in the classical, folk and contemporary idioms.
Recital performance preparation.
Introduction to great composers from different eras of music.
 
 

Level 2 (½ hour session)

Continuation of concepts developed in the beginning sessions with the addition of
minor, pentatonic, and blues scales.
Range and speed skills development.
Greater emphasis on musicality.
 
 

Levels 3-10 (1-hour session)

Development of advanced technique using indirect procedures.
Development of repertoire used in auditions, competitions, and recitals.
All 12 major and minor scales. Introduction to modes.
Help with school ensemble repertoire used in section placement and advancement.
 
 

Adult 1-hour session.

Development of music repertoire in classical, popular, and jazz idioms for expansion and maintenance of musical and technical skills used in community, church, and professional venues.
